Lacking Proper Time Management

The counselor was friendly and supportive, but our primary reason for choosing a college counselor was to help our son stay “on track” and complete numerous essays during the summer before the school year began. Unfortunately, the counselor left it to him to schedule his own appointments, resulting in too few meetings and no essays finished before school started. Consequently, he had to rush through his essays and applications, submitting them almost at the last minute. While the essay feedback was somewhat helpful, I’m unsure if it was worth the investment. We selected Empowerly over other college counselors mainly because of the advertised summer internship opportunity. Although he did obtain a summer internship, the company ended it early, so he didn’t gain much from it (which wasn’t Empowerly’s fault).

Our main objective was to establish effective time and project management for our son, allowing us to stay uninvolved. Unfortunately, this goal was not met.
