Counseling Services from AcceptU Fell Short

Our experience with AcceptU’s counseling services was disappointing. Even though we invested in their premium package, the counselor didnt take an active role in my childs application process. After just one or two meetings, I attempted to switch counselors because the assigned one didnt seem right for my kid, but AcceptU refused to accommodate the change. Additionally, my child felt that the counselor lacked expertise. There was no guidance on creating a college list or choosing a major based on high school academic performance, and we didn’t brainstorm specific supplemental essay topics that could enhance the chances of admission to particular colleges. It might be that the counselor was managing too many students to give adequate attention. My child boasts strong academic stats and impressive extracurriculars, especially in sports, yet the counselor failed to utilize these strengths. So, AcceptU’s effectiveness seems hit or miss. On the other hand, a friends child received excellent support from their counselor and got into their dream school as suggested. In the end, my child was accepted to the reach schools I had recommended Perhaps I should consider a career in counseling myself.
