Embarking on AcceptU Coaching for Our Second Child as They Begin 9th Grade

We opted for AcceptU’s coaching for our second child at the onset of their 9th-grade year, which provided ample time for comprehensive planning.- The student benefits from extended guidance and begins self-reflection (e.g., identifying areas of interest) that can be refined throughout their high school years.- We received valuable advice on essential aspects such as maintaining strong grades, selecting rigorous courses over the four years, and understanding standardized test requirements.- Additionally, there were excellent suggestions for extracurricular activities that align with and enhance the student’s interests, including conducting independent research. It’s important to demonstrate concrete outcomes and the impact of these activities, such as having a research paper published or participating in science fairs.- Finally, when it comes time to apply for college, following the recommendation to start drafting essays in the summer before senior year is crucial, allowing plenty of time for revisions and improvements.Supporting a students high school journey and preparing for college truly takes a village.
