Had to Independently Search for Affordable Colleges

My daughter felt very comfortable with her counselor, who was both helpful and approachable. However, as a parent, I sometimes felt unheard. I raised concerns that some of the colleges listed were beyond our budget and asked the counselor to find more affordable options for my daughter, but this didn’t happen. The Collegewise representative had assured me that any counselor we hired would understand which colleges were financially feasible for us, but that wasnt the case. Instead, we were encouraged to work with one of their financial counselors for an additional fee. It seems that the ‘Admissions’ and ‘Finances’ departments at Collegewise aren’t as connected as they should be, leaving customers to do much of the work themselves. The essay assistance was the most valuable part of the experience, but most of the college list building was done by us.
