Promises Not Kept

Our experience was dreadful and felt like a complete waste of nearly $6,000 for the Platinum package. We began in August 2022, aiming for a year and a half of preparation with College Advisors before my daughter graduated in May 2024. Initially, the representative who introduced us to the program provided extensive information via FaceTime, but that was the only time we received such detailed guidance. The package was supposed to include two advisors, one being a former college admissions officer. After seven months with a college advisor who wasn’t a former admissions officer (just a graduate student), was unaware of the Fiske book, and never turned on his camera during FaceTime sessions with my daughter, we insisted on getting the promised former admissions officer. After another month, we finally received one, but she only stayed for a couple of months before vanishing without attending meetings or responding to emails or calls. There was no acknowledgment or attempt to resolve the issue from higher management at C.A. During the time with the graduate student advisor, there was no SAT/ACT prep, no exploration of majors, and no guidance on the colleges my daughter was interested in. This advisor was always occupied with other students, and when available, only offered half-hour sessions on Friday afternoons. Months later, in mid-August, we were assigned another advisor who was a former admissions officer. By then, my daughter’s senior year had started, and she should have been ready to submit applications and essays. With any other college prep company, she would have been prepared by this stage, but not with C.A. Ultimately, we had to rely on my daughter’s AP Literature teacher to edit her essays.
